Gucci History:
Guccio Gucci founded the House of Gucci as a saddlery shop in Florence in 1906. He started out selling leather bags to horsemen in the 1920’s. In 1938 Guccio Gucci opened their first retail shop on the Via Condotti in Rome. Since then it has gone to explode in the fashion world and become one of the most recognized names.



Gucci through the years:


1960s - Grace Kelly, Peter Sellers and Audrey Hepburn helped make the name Gucci synonymous with "chic"

1970s - Gucci opens of the first franchise store in Japan

1980s - Investcorp acquires a 50% interest from members of the Gucci family

1990s - In 1995, the company was recovered in part to Tom Ford's new collection and its adoption by superstars which included Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.
